From the glamorous nightlife of Bangkok, to northern culture and mountain jungles, the natural beauty of Khao Sok to the luxury resort and intimate beaches of Koh Yao Noi.
DAY 1 BANGKOK
Welcome to Bangkok
Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be picked up and transferred to your hotel. Your local guide will give you an introduction to the tour Sit back, relax, enjoy a swim at the hotel and get ready for the adventure ahead.
DAY 2 BANGKOK
Bangkok Inside-Out
We arrive at Wat Pho as monks gather for their morning chants. Admire the 46-metre-long Reclining Buddha then continue to the Grand Palace, which houses the sacred Emerald Buddha. Board a private long-tail boat and travel the narrow klongs and local communities, concluding at Wat Arun, The Temple of Dawn. Lunch at a riverside restaurant, then visit Wat Benchamabophit, the Marble Temple and Jim Thompson's Museum, a teak heritage house and art collection.
DAY 3 BANGKOK
Bang Krachao by bicycle and Chinatown
We hop over the river to Bang Krachao, the Green Lung of the city, grab our bicycles and head down the bike paths, enjoying the natural environment, park and local markets. Back in Chinatown, stroll the narrow lanes and the Talad Noi area, visit Wat Traimit and fresh flower market Pak Klong Talad. This evening board the luxury Saffron for a 2-hour dinner river cruise.
DAY 4 AYUTTHAYA
Historical Ayutthaya
Travel north to Ayutthaya and explore the ruins of the historical park by bicycle. Your local guide will explain the history of the ancient capital and its demise by Burmese invaders. Visit Wat Yai Chaimongkol and Wat Mahathat. Try the local giant river prawns for lunch then take a long-tail downriver to Bang Pa-In Palace and Wat Niwet Thammaprawat, a Gothic-style temple. Return to Bangkok.
DAY 5 CHIANG MAI
To Chiang Mai, Doi Suthep
After the short flight to Chiang Mai, check-in to your hotel in the city. Later in the afternoon we travel up the mountain to the revered Wat Phra Doi Suthep. Stroll around the golden chedi and enjoy the views over the city at sunset.
DAY 6 CHIANG MAI
Elephant Sanctuary
We arrive this morning at an ethical elephant sanctuary located in the mountain jungle. Take part in the morning elephant caregiver programme, learning how to interact with the elephants as well as grooming activities. Walk the animals, feed them and bathe with them in the river. Local picnic lunch by the river.
DAY 7 CHIANG MAI
Lanna Culture and Cooking
Learn how to prepare northern cuisine at the traditional home of a local family. Select fresh ingredients from the garden and learn about the various vegetables, herbs and spice. Prepare a chili paste and cook using traditional equipment and methods. In the afternoon. board a samlor for a tour of the old city, visiting Wat Phra Singh, Wat Chedi Luang, local markets and a silver-making workshop along Wua Lai Road.
DAY 8 KHAO SOK
To Khao Sok
Transfer to the airport and take the 1hr 45min flight to Surat Thani. Your driver will meet you then journey to Khao Sok National Park along the scenic mountian road. Arrive at the jungle camp and settle into your bungalow or treehouse. Learn the local craft of bamboo cooking, starting the fire and preparing the meal including barbeque chicken, rice cooked in bamboo tubes and bamboo pancakes.
DAY 9 KHAO SOK
Floating Lake Villa
This morning, travel to the pier and take a long-tail boat on the lake, passing limestone cliffs and formations before arriving at the floating resort for lunch. Then hike to a waterfall and explore a coral cave with a local guide. Later, take a boat ride to view the wildlife at sunset. Dinner and overnight at the resort.
DAY 10 KOH YAO NOI
Park Wildlife, to Koh Yao Noi
Depart early for a wildlife safari on the lake by long-tail boat, looking out for gibbons, macaques, dusty langurs and great hornbills amongst others. After breakfast, return back to the pier by boat for the transfer to Koh Yai Noi.
DAY 11 KOH YAO NOI
Koh Yao Noi
Experience the natural beauty of the island with a local guide. Take a bicycle to visit some isolated beaches and snorkel in the torquise waters. Visit a small village for an insight into the local culture and community spirit that exists on the island.
DAY 12-13 KOH YAO NOI
Koh Yao Noi
Spend the time on Koh Yao Noi at your leisure.
DAY 14
Departure
Enjoy the morning at your leisure before transfer to Phuket Airport for your homeward flight.
