DAY 1 BANGKOK
Welcome to Bangkok
Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be picked up and transferred to your hotel. Your local guide will give you an introduction to the tour Sit back, relax, enjoy a swim at the hotel and get ready for the adventure ahead.
DAYS 2-4 KOH NGAI, TRANG
Koh Ngai
Fly south to Trang Airport then travel by speedboat to the island of Koh Ngai. Spend the next three days on the island relaxing at the beachfront resort and exploring the neighbouring islands. Discover the Emerald Cave, Sivalai Beach and the fisherman's village on Koh Mook. Snorkel the coral reef along Koh Kradan’s southern Ao Nieng Beach and relax on the white sand Sunrise Beach.
DAY 5 PHATTALUNG
Phattalung Local Life
Take the boat back to Trang mainland an onto Phattalung Province. Visit Wat Tham Sumano, a cave temple with many Buddist shrines and popular for meditation. Visit a community based rural learning centre showing the traditional rural way of life and see cultivation by buffalo, rice growing and traditional massage practices.
DAY 6 PHATTALUNG
Thalae Noi Wetland
Depart for a dawn longtail boat ride on the Thale Noi lotus lake seeing various bird species and roaming buffalo. Through the narrow canal lto Songkhla Lake and rows of Yor - large dip fishing nets on wooden stilts used by the local fishermen. Visit Talat Pa Phai Sang Suk, the Bamboo Forest Market and drive over the Ekachai Bridge which spans the wetland.
DAY 7 PHATTALUNG
Krajood Basket Weaving
Enjoy a dip at Khao Chaison Hot Spring then visit a local community enterprise where krajude baskets and household goods are produced. The Krajood plant thrives in the wetland area and is used to make handicrafts. Make your own Krajood bag and get to know more about this local handicraft.
DAYS 8-10 KHANOM BEACH
Nang Talung Puppets
We head for Nakhon Si Thammarat Province and stop at a shadow puppet museum. The host will explain the history of the art and how the puppets are made as well as a short performance. Visit the revered Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan then continue to Khanom Beach where you will spend the next two nights.
DAY 11 KHAO SOK
To Khao Sok, Jungle Cooking
Today we travel to Khao Sok National Park, arriivng at the jungle camp in the afternoon. Learn about the local craft of bamboo cooking, starting a fire and helping to prepare a variety of food - barbeque chicken, green curry and rice cooked in bamboo tubues. Enjoy the jungle dinner together by the riverside.
DAY 12 KHAO SOK
Bamboo Raft, Jungle Hike
This half day adventure begins bamboo rafting down the Sok River towards the Wat Tham Pla Cave Temple. Then hike up to Tham Kheow Cave, where monks meditate. Enjoy the natural surroundings with a coffee brewed in bamboo shoots. Exploration the cave then descend back to the temple and transfer to the resort.
DAY 13 KHAO SOK
Overnight Lake Raft House
We stop at a local market before travelling to the pier. Take a longtail boat, passing limestone formations before arriving at the raft house for lunch. With a local guide, hike to a waterfall and viewpoint followed by a boat trip to view the wildlife. Spend the afteroon at your leisure at the floatng raft.
DAY 14 SURAT THANI
Departure
Wake early for a boat ride to experience the early morning lake atmosphere and see some inhibitants of the jungle. After breakfast, transfer to Surat Thani Airport for your homeward journey or onward travel.
